Your team
Members and roles
The join code, scouting leads and analysts, the team's contact email, and leaving a team.
Everything here is under Settings → Team.
Lovat has two roles:
| Analyst | Scouting lead | |
|---|---|---|
| View analytics, team data and other teams’ shared numbers | ✔ | ✔ |
| Make picklists and save Explore views | ✔ | ✔ |
| Add scouters, flag reports, edit notes on your team’s reports | ✔ | ✔ |
| Create API keys | ✔ | ✔ |
| See and rotate the join code, change roles, remove members | ✔ | |
| Rename, archive and delete scouters; create shifts; see scouter stats | ✔ | |
| Enroll and revoke scouting phones | ✔ | |
| Review flags on your reports; exclude or delete reports | ✔ | |
| Export CSVs | ✔ | |
| Connect Slack | ✔ |
Everyone who joins starts as an analyst. It’s fine to have several scouting leads.
The join code
Section titled “The join code”Teammates join by entering your team number and the join code when they sign up. Scouting leads see the code under Join code:
- Copy copies it to share in your team’s chat.
- New code replaces it, for example if it was posted somewhere public. The old code stops working.
Each code lasts 30 days, and the expiry date is shown under it. Scouting phones don’t use the join code; they enroll from Scouting → Devices. See Scouting phones.
Members
Section titled “Members”The member list shows everyone on the team and their role. Scouting leads can use a member’s menu to Make scouting lead, Make analyst, or Remove from team.
If someone from your team used the old Lovat with an unverified email address, their request appears under Waiting for approval. Select Approve to bring them in with their old role, or Decline.
Contact email
Section titled “Contact email”The team’s contact email is where lost join codes and team notices go. Use an address the team keeps, not a student’s, so it still works after people graduate. Scouting leads can change it and select Save.
Lovat can post in your team’s Slack when a robot you’re about to play with breaks: when another team’s scout reports that one of your upcoming alliance partners broke down, you get a message in the channel you choose, with the scout’s note. Later reports about the same robot go into that message’s thread.
Under Settings → Integrations, a scouting lead can select Add to Slack to connect your team’s Slack workspace, or Disconnect it. Then, in the channel where you want the warnings, type:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/lovat subscribe break | Post break warnings in this channel |
/lovat unsubscribe break | Stop posting them here |
/lovat help | Show these commands |
Leave a team
Section titled “Leave a team”Select Leave team … at the bottom of the page. You’ll lose access to the team’s reports, picklists and settings, and you can join again later with the join code.
If you’re the only scouting lead, make someone else a lead first. Lovat won’t let the last lead leave while others are still on the team.
