Lovat Collection
Send your reports
How reports get from a scouting phone to your team, with or without a connection.
Every report you submit is saved on the phone first. From there it reaches your team one of three ways, and you never need to pick one in advance.
Automatic upload
Section titled “Automatic upload”Whenever the phone has Wi-Fi or cellular service, Collection uploads waiting reports on its own and retries if an upload fails. Tap the status pill on the match selector to retry right away.
After you submit, the report shows one of these:
- In the cloud: your team has it. Nothing else to do.
- On this phone, not uploaded yet: it’s saved, and will upload when there’s a connection or a teammate takes it.
- Upload failed: the server couldn’t accept it. See Reports the server didn’t accept.
No signal? Hand it to a teammate
Section titled “No signal? Hand it to a teammate”When reports are waiting, the screen after Submit and the top of History show Send … reports, with two ways to hand them over. Both include every report on the phone that isn’t in the cloud yet, not just the last one.
QR code
Section titled “QR code”Collection shows one looping, animated QR code. A teammate scans it with their Lovat app: on iOS or Android, Scouting → Receive reports → Scan QR codes; on desktop, Receive from Collection → Use the camera. Hold the phone steady until their app says it’s done. The code changes constantly, which is normal: it carries many reports in one animation, and the scanner only needs to catch enough of it.
Bluetooth
Section titled “Bluetooth”- Your teammate opens Receive in their Lovat app first (Receive reports → Receive over Bluetooth on iOS and Android, or Receive from Collection on desktop).
- On the scouting phone, tap Send over Bluetooth.
- The first time two devices connect, both screens show a code. Check that they match and tap Pair.
When it’s done, Collection shows Sent with the number of records, or They already had everything. If it says No teammate’s Lovat app nearby, make sure your teammate has Receive open and is close by, then try again.
The web version of Lovat Dashboard can’t receive reports. Use the iOS, Android or desktop app.
The phone keeps every report until the cloud has it
Section titled “The phone keeps every report until the cloud has it”Handing a report to a teammate doesn’t remove it from the phone. It stays On this phone, not uploaded yet, and keeps being offered in the QR code and Bluetooth, until Lovat confirms the cloud has it. That happens when either the phone uploads it, or a teammate’s app that received it uploads it and tells the phone during a later transfer.
So it’s always safe to send the same reports to more than one teammate. Lovat removes duplicates everywhere.
History
Section titled “History”Tap History in the top left of the match selector to see every match scouted on this phone, with its status. Tap one to see your answers.
Reports stay in History after they upload. To clear them, reset the app from Settings, but only after everything says In the cloud.
Reports the server didn’t accept
Section titled “Reports the server didn’t accept”If a report shows The server didn’t accept this report, open it to see the reason. Tap Try again to send it again, or Stop trying to keep it on the phone and never upload it. If you’re not sure, ask your scouting lead before you stop trying.
