Receive reports
Take reports from Collection phones that can't upload, by QR code or Bluetooth.
When scouting phones have signal, reports upload on their own and you don’t need to do anything. When they don’t, any teammate with a Lovat app can take the reports and pass them on. There’s no designated device: any phone can hand its reports to any teammate’s Lovat app, and Lovat removes duplicates if the same report arrives more than once.
Receiving needs the iOS, Android or desktop app. The web version can’t receive reports.
Scan a QR code
Section titled “Scan a QR code”In the iOS or Android app, open Scouting, select Receive reports, then Scan QR codes. Allow the camera if asked.
On the scouting phone, the scouter opens the screen after Submit, or History, where Collection shows an animated QR code. Point your camera at it and keep it in view until Lovat says it’s merging. One animation carries every report waiting on that phone.
On desktop, open Receive from Collection from the Sync menu and select Use the camera to scan with your computer’s camera.
Receive over Bluetooth
Section titled “Receive over Bluetooth”- Open Receive reports → Receive over Bluetooth (on desktop, Sync → Receive from Collection… and Start receiving). Lovat shows Waiting for Collection phones and teammates.
- The scouter taps Send over Bluetooth in Collection.
- The first time a phone connects, both screens show a short code. Check that they match and confirm.
Each transfer shows up in the list with how many new records arrived. Leave the screen open and several scouters can send one after another.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”Received reports are saved in your app straight away, so they show up in your team’s numbers on that device immediately. Your app uploads them the next time it has a connection, and passes them on to teammates you sync with. See Work offline and sync.
Once the cloud has a report, the scouting phone finds out the next time it uploads or hands reports to someone, and stops offering it.
